Govt Announces Free Entry to Parks on Sept 27 for World Tourism Day

Kenyans will enjoy free entry to all national parks, game reserves, and sanctuaries on Saturday, September 27, 2025, Tourism CS Rebecca Miano has announced.

The move, marking UN World Tourism Day, is meant to encourage Kenyans to reconnect with wildlife heritage while promoting conservation under this year’s theme, “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation.”

Miano urged citizens to take advantage of the chance to explore the country’s rich biodiversity, describing the parks as “not just Kenya’s pride but the world’s heritage.”

Guidelines on the free entry are available on the KWS website (kws.go.ke), its social media platforms, or through its toll-free number 0800597000 and WhatsApp line 0726610509.

World Tourism Day has been celebrated annually since 1980 to highlight tourism’s social and economic impact.
