Ruto in Panic Mode: DCP Claims State House Using Clergy, Politicians & Rain Makers to Woo Kalonzo
Desperate charm offensive exposes cracks as UDA’s “fake confidence” tested by hostile ground.
President William Ruto is “working overtime” to poach Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka — even deploying men of the cloth, local politicians, traditional medicine men, and rain makers, according to the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP).
In a fiery statement, the DCP claimed the frantic courtship proves Ruto is deeply unsettled ahead of 2027.
“Ruto only beat Raila Odinga by 200,000 votes. He lost Mt. Kenya, Raila lost Ukambani — and now the ground is very hostile. That’s why they are hiding behind fake confidence and using money,” the party said.
The allegations suggest Kalonzo has become the “hottest political bride” of 2025, with both camps scrambling to lock him down. Analysts warn the move exposes UDA’s unease, despite its loud chest-thumping.
Whether Kalonzo resists Ruto’s overtures or strikes a deal could reshape the 2027 showdown — but one thing is clear: the so-called “hustler nation” is sweating.
