Mike Sonko Drops Millions in Midnight Cash Delivery for East Africa’s First Triple-Fold Phone (WATCH)

NAIROBI, Kenya — While most of the city was silent, former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko was busy cementing his status as the region’s ultimate “bling” king. In a high-octane video shared with his followers, the flamboyant politician documented the arrival of a piece of technology so rare that it effectively puts him in an elite global club of only 500 people. Sonko is officially the first individual in East Africa to own the Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold, the latest and most ambitious foldable device ever released by the tech giant.

The delivery was anything but ordinary. An authorized Samsung franchise partner arrived at Sonko’s residence under the cover of darkness to hand-deliver the device. The dealer confirmed that Sonko’s unit is serial number 119 out of a limited global run of just 500 pieces. “In the entire globe, there are only 500 pieces. In Kenya, the count is currently zero—this is the only piece,” the dealer explained during the unboxing, emphasizing the extreme exclusivity of the gadget.

True to his larger-than-life persona, Sonko didn’t reach for a credit card or a mobile banking app. Instead, he settled the staggering $6,900 (approx. KSh 900,000) bill with bundles of hard cash. As he counted out the dollar notes, Sonko took a moment to address his critics and the “wash-wash” rumors that often trail his displays of wealth. “This is not wash-wash man,” he quipped, insisting that his ability to afford such luxuries comes from the “cheddar” made by those who stay awake while others sleep.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Trifold represents a massive leap in mobile engineering. Unlike the standard “Z Fold” that opens like a book, the Trifold features a revolutionary triple-screen design with two hinges, allowing it to unfold into a massive, cinematic tablet display. During the unboxing, a visibly impressed Sonko compared the sleek, obsidian finish of the Trifold to his previous “gift packages” from Samsung, even dismissing high-end competitors as “Chinese phones” that couldn’t match the sophistication of his new acquisition.

The “Sonko Flex” didn’t end with his own purchase. Impressed by the build quality and the unique triple-folding mechanism, the former Governor immediately requested a second unit for his wife. “You give me another 48 hours to deliver one for mama,” he told the dealer, who promised to source another rare unit within the tight deadline.

This latest stunt has once again ignited social media, with fans and critics alike debating the ethics and opulence of spending nearly a million shillings on a single smartphone. However, for Mike Sonko, it’s just another day—or night—in the office, proving that when it comes to being the first to own the world’s most expensive toys, he remains unchallenged in the East African landscape.
