Brains for Looting?” Gachagua Torches Ruto in Explosive War of Words
Kenya’s political battlefield is on fire after Rigathi Gachagua unleashed a brutal counterattack on President William Ruto, turning the “no brains” insult into a weapon.
Ruto, while launching the Mombasa Commuter Rail Service on September 17th, mocked the opposition as brainless nobodies:
“They have no plan, no policy, no agenda — not even any brains.”
But Gachagua didn’t flinch. In Machakos on September 20th, he shot back with fire:
“It’s true, the kind of brains he’s looking for, we don’t have. The brains for stealing and looting everything in Kenya — we don’t have those!”
The DCP leader accused Ruto of trying to brand opposition leaders as fools for rejecting state violence against Gen Z protesters.
He also tore into Ruto for insulting Ukambani, blasting the sudden sacking of KETRACO boss John Mativo on September 19th.
Gachagua didn’t mince words about Ruto’s quick trip to Machakos either: “It is very disrespectful to sack a competent leader and replace him with his tribesmen.”
Mativo’s replacement, Kipkemoi Kibias, has only added fuel to the fire — widening the rift between the ex-deputy and his former boss.
With phrases like “brains for looting” now flying through the air, the gloves are off. Kenya’s political drama just went full tabloid — and the mudslinging is only getting dirtier.
