Babu Owino Explodes: “2027 Is About Voting OUT Ruto, Not Voting IN Anyone – So Why Demonize Kalonzo?”

Firebrand Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has once again lit up Kenya’s political scene with his trademark no-holds-barred rhetoric — this time defending Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka against growing criticism in opposition circles.

Speaking in his signature fiery style, Babu reminded Kenyans that elections are often more about removing unpopular regimes than electing “saints.”

“In 2020, Americans didn’t troop to the ballot to install Joe Biden,” Babu thundered. “They went there to remove Donald Trump. In 2002, Kenyans didn’t go to the ballot to crown Mwai Kibaki. They went to chase out Moi.”

Drawing parallels to 2027, Babu threw the big question at the crowd: “Kalonzo ametosha ama hajatosha? When he was with Azimio, he was called good. Now that he’s in opposition, suddenly Kalonzo is bad? Mbona? Kalonzo amekosa nini so far?”

The MP further scoffed at critics painting him as a villain for backing Kalonzo. “Ati tukisema Kalonzo tosha, Babu ni mbaya. Mbaya what? What exactly is bad about saying the truth?”

His remarks come at a time when murmurs are growing within the opposition on whether Kalonzo has the political muscle to face off with President William Ruto in 2027. But for Babu, the issue is not about personalities — it’s about unseating an administration he claims has betrayed Kenyans. For many young Kenyans, the outspoken MP’s argument resonates: elections are less about who comes in, and more about who gets shown the door.

As 2027 edges closer, one thing is clear — Babu Owino is determined to shake tables, and in true fashion, he has just thrown the spotlight squarely on Kalonzo Musyoka’s bid for the presidency.
