KSh70 Billion Betrayal: Gachagua Claims Ruto Buying Jets as Kenyans Lack Medicine (VIDEO)

Tensions in Kenya’s political arena continue to escalate after former Deputy President and Democratic People’s Congress (DCP) party leader Rigathi Gachagua made explosive allegations against President William Ruto.

Speaking during a church service at Ambassador Ministry of Christ in Wamumu Ward, Mwea, Kirinyaga County, Gachagua accused President Ruto of secretly dispatching a government delegation to Vietnam to purchase two executive jets and eight military helicopters at a staggering cost of over KSh70 billion.

According to Gachagua, the team reportedly includes senior Kenya Defence Forces officers and officials from the Office of the President, raising questions about transparency and accountability in state procurement.

“Ruto has sent a team to Vietnam to purchase 2 executive jets and 8 helicopters at a cost of more than KSh70 billion when our children are at home; when hospitals have no medicine,” Gachagua declared. “

The outspoken former deputy president said the alleged aircraft acquisition is a betrayal of public trust, especially at a time when Kenyans are burdened by rising taxes, unemployment, and a failing healthcare system.

He accused President Ruto of abandoning ordinary citizens and mismanaging public funds under the guise of grand state projects.

Gachagua’s remarks further deepen the widening political rift between him and Ruto ahead of the 2027 elections, setting the stage for a fierce battle for control of Kenya’s political narrative. State House has yet to respond to the latest claims, but sources close to the presidency have previously dismissed similar accusations as cheap propaganda meant to incite public anger.
