Xiaomi Kenya Launches Redmi 15 4G, Starts at KES 17,050 with Free Power Bank
Xiaomi Kenya has officially rolled out the Redmi 15 4G in the local market, just days after teasing its debut on September 25. The device is now listed on Jumia Kenya, priced at KES 17,050 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB model and KES 18,960 for the higher 8GB RAM + 256GB variant.
Early buyers from the official Xiaomi Store on Jumia will get a two-year warranty and a free power bank with every purchase. The giveaway has raised eyebrows, given that the phone itself already packs a massive 7,000mAh battery—one of the largest in its class.
Redmi 15 vs. Redmi 15C
The launch comes shortly after Xiaomi introduced the Redmi 15C in Kenya, a more affordable sibling with a slightly trimmed feature set. Here’s the local pricing for the Redmi 15C:
- 4GB + 128GB – KES 11,999
- 6GB + 128GB – KES 14,099
- 8GB + 256GB – KES 16,599
Unlike the Redmi 15, the Redmi 15C ships with free Redmi Buds 6 Play, plus the same two-year warranty. This makes the value proposition interesting—Xiaomi is bundling earbuds with the budget model, while the premium variant comes with a power bank despite its record-breaking battery capacity.
Key Features of the Redmi 15 4G
The Redmi 15 differentiates itself with higher-end specifications designed to appeal to power users:

- Durability: IP64-rated dust and water resistance
- Battery: 7,000mAh with 33W fast charging and 18W reverse charging
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 (6nm) with up to 16GB RAM via memory extension
- Software: Ships with HyperOS 2, upgradeable to HyperOS 3

Market Positioning
With its large display, gaming-ready refresh rate, and class-leading battery life, the Redmi 15 4G clearly positions itself as the flagship of Xiaomi’s new budget lineup. By contrast, the Redmi 15C caters to shoppers prioritizing affordability and bundled accessories over cutting-edge specs.
Both models now give Kenyan consumers new options in the sub-KES 20,000 smartphone bracket, a segment where competition from brands like Infinix, Tecno, and Oppo remains intense.
For buyers, the choice comes down to priorities: longevity and performance with the Redmi 15, or value and freebies with the Redmi 15C.
